The Girl's Good (aka Pirouette)
Pirouette was Kayla’s first off-the-track thoroughbred (OTTB). At just 10 years old, Kayla took on the green 4-year-old mare, turning her into a little jumper. Pirouette is now enjoying retirement at the ripe old age of 26 but still appreciates a good gallop around the arena.
-
Midnight Lace (aka Gypsy)
Like Pirouette, Gypsy became part of the family as a project horse for Kayla’s sister. Gypsy is an Appendix mare with quarter horse and thoroughbred blood. While she competed as a hunter-jumper, Gypsy loves the pace of retirement at age 28.
-
Tricky Ricky (aka Ricky)
Ricky is a 5-year-old OTTB that was too slow for racing. Kayla purchased Ricky when he was 3, looking for another young project horse. He has since proven himself to be very athletic goofball and a joy to be around. 2024 has been Ricky’s first show season, and he is settling into the routine well.

Pride
Pride is a 6-year-old thoroughbred, rescued from slaughter. He began under saddle training on a ranch but did not respond well to the training style. His owners brought him down to California for some time in the sun. With consistent ground work and under saddle time, he has gone from a scared, anxious horse to one that is more trusting and loving.
-
Chance
A 16-year-old Arabian, Chance came into Kayla's care having not been worked for 5 years. His owners had a bad experience with him and did not know how to work past it. On top of that, Chance had a grave injury that he is still recovering from. He is now happily on the mend and loving being under saddle again. He's got a lot of rides left in him.
-
Sunny Bailey
Sunny Bailey is a 14-year old POA. She was purchased for a young girl learning how to ride. Having previously enjoyed just being a pony-ride, Sunny Bailey has had to work really hard to learn how to use her muscles and her brain. She loves trail rides and taking care of her little girl.

Gotcha
Another OTTB, Gotcha is a 5-year old sweetheart. His owners are new to owning and riding horses so Kayla is helping build a healthy, safe, and fun bond between horse and human. Currently, the team is working on transitions and ground poles.
-
Finn
Finn is a middle-age OTTB with a background in eventing. After suffering an eventing accident, Finn is now enjoying a lesson horse life. His owners, a mother and daughter duo, both take lessons on him at varying levels. Finn is very patient, loves a job, and is getting back into trails.
